Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue Course description
This tree climbing & aerial rescue course covers the accessing of trees using climbing equipment to carry out pruning, cutting and dismantling operations. It includes aerial rescues techniques for casualties in the trees canopy and on a pole. Successful candidates will achieve the necessary certification using a rope and harness to work safely and securely in the trees. The course is broken down into five days training, concluding on the sixth day with an NPTC assessment. This entry level aerial course is ideal for candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in tree surgery and forestry.

Prerequisites

No prerequisite NPTC qualifications needed!
- No previous climbing experience needed!
- Be able to participate in 5 days of physical climbing
- NPTC candidates must be over 16 years old
Equipment requirements
- PPE: Hard hat with chin strap, suitable boots and clothing
- Tree climbing harness
- Two climbing lines (30m+)
- Adjustable Lanyard
- 5 Karabiners (triple action, self-locking)
- 4 prusik loops or friction cord
- Spikes
Please ensure all climbing equipment is EN compliant and has appropriate LOLER certificates and PPE is in good condition. Equipment is available for hire if candidates do not yet have their own. Please contact the office for cost.
