Course description
Chainsaw training course CS30 covers maintenance, basic chainsaw use, and cross-cutting at ground level. Successful candidates will achieve the necessary certification to safely maintain a chainsaw and cross cut timber. The course is broken down into two days training, concluding on the third day with an NPTC assessment. This entry level course is ideal for candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in tree surgery and forestry, and for all chainsaw operators who require a certification in chainsaw use.

The course lasts for three days, including two days of training and one day for the NPTC assessment.
This entry-level course is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in tree surgery and forestry, as well as for commercial chainsaw operators requiring certification.
Participants need PPE (Type C chainsaw trousers, hard hat with ear and eye protection, gloves, and steel toe-cap boots), a rear-handled chainsaw with up to a 15” bar, fuel, oil, a maintenance kit, and a filing kit.
The course covers legislation, risk assessment, chainsaw maintenance, chain sharpening, correct starting procedure, cross-cutting, bore cuts, removing branches, and manual handling techniques.
The course costs £564, which includes VAT and NPTC assessment fees.
